Professional Learning Community
A professional learning community (PLC) is a group of educators committed to working collaboratively in ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve.

This STELLAR route has a specified operational budget*, requires a minimum of 15 hours contact time per educator, and takes place within a defined period of time.
Sample STELLAR professional learning communities, with a focus on mathematics education, may include but are not limited to:
a. specialized book clubs,
b. a grade level cohort,
c. a family of schools cohort.
Note: STELLAR funding may not be used solely for
- the purchase of classroom supplies, manipulatives, or technology;
- prep time to prepare centre work, class materials, etc.
* Budget may include: Materials/Resources up to a maximum of $500. Up to a maximum of 4 days of leave may be provided. All monetary values stated are in Canadian dollars. Please do not make STELLAR-funded purchases through a school account. Reimbursements can only be made directly to individual educators, not to school accounts.
